Men in India do face stress /stressful situations in their daily life, as they take on responsibilities as the head of the family, supporters of the entire family along with many other roles and duties at workplace and in society.

1. Healthy Diet

Eat healthy foods containing all essential nutrients like vitamins, minerals, amino acids and fatty acids in proper proportions. Eating more of fresh vegetables including leafy vegetables, legumes, nuts and fruits helps to get good amounts of vitamins and minerals which in turn helps in giving energy and support  for all  physiological  processes in the body, thereby helping it combat the adverse effects of  stress. Optimal amounts of meat and fish also provide good nutrients to non-vegetarians.

2. Avoid / Minimize Alcohol, Smoking and Caffeine

Stress can push men to indulge in taking more alcohol, to smoke more and have more beverages containing caffeine, all of which can increase the levels of stress hormones like cortisol. The stress hormones behave as stimulants, leading to increase in heart rate, high blood pressure, sleeplessness etc. If you can’t avoid, at least restrict the consumption.

3. Regular Exercise
